Commercial Lines Producer

We are currently seeking a professional Commercial Lines Producer with proven sales experience. Supported by a knowledgeable staff and mentored by agency Partners, our Commercial Lines Producer will be selling to senior level executives and business owners using a highly consultative sales approach.

We are headquartered in Watsonville, CA with offices in San Jose and Salinas.  We provide comprehensive risk management, and employee benefit services to organizations of all sizes.  McSherry & Hudson creates programs for a range of industries, including, but not limited to: agribusiness, construction, warehousing, and property management.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships and new business opportunities.
  • Consult with clients and prospects regarding their Commercial Insurance needs (Property and Casualty, Workers’ Compensation, etc.)
  • Conduct meetings to obtain additional information to better understand client’s business operations and risk management needs using a consultative approach.
  • Provide knowledgeable advice on programs and products available.
  • Complete and submit thorough applications and underwriting narrative for the appropriate markets.
  • Review & analyze quotes and prepare sales proposal, coordinating with other team workers as needed.
  • Develop problem-solving skills to understand, anticipate and meet client needs.
  • Coordinate service delivery and retention of produced or assigned accounts.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge in areas of insurance and non-insurance products.
  • Work with existing clients and potential clients to become a “trusted advisor”.
  • Work closely with Account Managers in providing high level of customer service.
  • Learn internal systems and follow E& O procedures/policies
  • Learn the agency management software system.
  • Offer assistance and knowledge to other staff members to promote an environment of teamwork.


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
  • Valid and current California insurance license, with all continuing education requirements met.
  • Professional conduct consistent with the image of the company.
  • High degree of self-motivation and drive.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Skill in organization, establishing priorities and meeting goals.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • A valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.
